HCImpressione I

By Joseph. Posted in Band Practices, Concert Stuff | No Comments »

Hi guys, I’m not sure how many people would read this post in time for tomorrow, but I’ll just post anyway.

Tomorrow’s the big day! I hope you have all had your well deserved break today. Tomorrow, let’s put up a spectacular show. We have worked hard for so long – at least a few months, make this concert a blast.

Please remember what Mr Leng has gone through for ALL the pieces, remember what we have repaired. Stay calm on stage, don’t be nervous, don’t freak out. The limelight’s gonna be on us tomorrow night, give it our best shot.

In any case, here’s the details for tomorrow

PLEASE:

1. Report @ SALT by 9am to move percs, come punctually, we dont have a lot of time.

2. Come in your P.E. shirt and respective shorts.

3. Bring ALL required parts of your uniform – black (long pants, long-sleeved shirt, high socks, leather shoes) + SYF Blazer (if you have it), solid coloured tie & school tie for (sec2-4) or just solid coloured tie for sec 1s.

4. Stay alert and be proactive . We don’t have the time for screw ups tomorrow. If we do things efficiently, we can get things done quickly.

5. Concert should finish around 9.30pm, dismissal around 11.30pm.

6. Remember all scores, pieces, instrument cases/accessories.

Tomorrow’s our night, let us wow the audience. Bests of luck to us all. We can do it.

10 days left…

By Joseph. Posted in Band Practices, Concert Stuff | No Comments »

Hi guys!

As of today, we have 10 more days left to prepare for the concert. Somehow, I just don’t feel secure. We are a GwH band… yet I have this insecure feeling about the concert.

10 precious more days.

That would mean 5 more prac days, including band camp. There isn’t much time left. To the sec 1s: Your pieces are starting to really take shape, and that is very heartening to know. To the sec 2s and above: We are the GwH batch, and we know that we have even greater potential than what we are showing now.  Imagine the last 10 days before SYF – the mood, the atmosphere. What was it like then? Can we replicate what we have done just 7 months ago? Can we “wow” the audience again? About the pieces, they are sounding okay. BUT we want them to sound great, even better, perfect. It’s a matter of commitment. It’s our concert. If we don’t work for it, no one else will. I know we can make it within this 10 days, and you know you can too.

It’s the last 10 days, the last 5 practice days. It’s the very last dash already. I am confident that we can make it. Go for it.

HCImpressione I

Heylo,

Information regarding the upcoming concert, please read carefully.
Two very urgent and important points.

1) Tickets:

Please start mass inviting everyone to the upcoming concert.
Details are already listed above in that picture kindly done up by zhenyang. =)

Anyway, when i say ‘everyone’, i truthfully mean everyone.
It can be your family members, your friends, your classmates, your schoolmates, your primary school friends, your kindergarten friends, your neighbour, or that cute girl you like.

In any case, spam your entire msn contact list or send out a sms to all the contacts in your phone book.

It’s finally our turn to host a concert, after 3 long years.
Definitely significant.
And what’s the fun of it all if you’re performing to strangers? Invite people you know! (More gifts too. xP)

Persuade them, and we do have many tickets to sell.
More information will be given by the ticket committee later on.
For now, start asking around.

2) Music:

Your first concert after establishing yourself as a GWH band, people want to hear music.
Our best chance to prove that we deserve the GWH.
Entertain the people.

For the above to happen, please make an effort to practise.
If you have not noticed, we are exactly 3 weeks away from the concert.
You do not have much time.

To the sec 3s and current exco, push your juniors.
It’s high time you guys do something.

Like i said, not much time left.
Whether this concert is successful, it depends on each and everyone of us.

Finally.
Enjoy yourself.
The concert will be a great experience.

With much concern,
Jie Xuan.

Under Construction

By De Jun. Posted in Website Updates | No Comments »

Greetings :)

I’m De Jun, in charge of hciband.net for 09/10 and I have uploaded a new theme and change of system, using wordpress instead of cutenews. This was a change for the better.

I am really sorry for the uncannily simple theme right now… I still have a few more minor things to put up like the blog links of everyone which I would come up with a different page just for it. I hope you would understand and kindly bear with this simple theme for awhile, as I work on the major one :)

Jiayou for the 28th November 2009, HCImpressione I concert.

To the excos: please register here yourself. Kindly only put your name as your username and your desired password. I would up your status once you have been confirmed to be one of the excos. Please do this as soon as possible. Thanks.

-registering an account yourself is now closed, please request-
