Dedication to:

By De Jun. Posted in Misc. | No Comments »

Hi Guys!

I’m sure Hawaii has been an eye-opening experience for all of us. The bond in the band, be it among your juniors, seniors, instructors (conductors), teachers would have been strengthened, hopefully. Send a dedication to those who you cherish, what you want to say to them, and we would compile them into one big band blog post right here on hciband.net! You could also send in pictures of size 640×480px and we would help you post right up here. Here’s how you can go about doing this by just sending an email to admin@hciband.net, with the subject of HCIBAND Dedication then start writing your (love) message.

E.g.
To: admin@hciband.net
Subject: HCIBAND Dedication

Dedication to: THE OTHER PERSON’S NAME HERE

I love my juniors
xoxo

From: YOUR NAME HERE.

The parts in italic are for you to fill in. The dateline is till April 3, 2010 11:59PM! Have fun! Do attach your pictures if you want, right in the email.

Cheerios,
De Jun.

p.s. please try to send the dedications again to admin@hciband.net :P

Formal PBMF Photo

By zhenyang. Posted in Misc. | No Comments »

I don’t think I’m supposed to reproduce it, but who cares.. (The copyright still belongs to the photographer even though we have so many copies of it -_-)

Anyone who wants the digital version (not really that high quality as compared to the original one that is still with the photographer) can click on the link below and then right-click save it. Yup. That’s all I guess, I only have the formal one, so anyone who has the LUAU and INFORMAL ones can send to De Jun or any exco member for them to upload. Have a good 1 week break :)

OPEN ME, I’M THE PHOTO!

You know when you scan stuff on a lousy scanner, you get all the noisy stuff and dust on the photo.

Ya, so don’t expect the photo to be so clear and sharp… :\

Too bad :P

Post Hawaii

By Joseph. Posted in Misc. | No Comments »

Hi all,

Last week was a blast! I know no one will object to that statement. Once again, by clinching that gold award in the 25th Pacific Basin Music Festival, we have repeated history. 10 years ago, we also clinched the gold award in the same festival, 10 years later, we have done the same thing. Being one of the four schools to have gotten a gold, we have made a name in the international arena, we have done the country proud, the school proud, the band proud, and lastly but most importantly, you have done yourself proud.

Of course, not everything is about results. Do treasure the experience you had in Hawaii, with your band mates or with other bands from other countries, because this experience will last you for a lifetime, and this is also most likely the only time you would get to experience this. There are huge takeaways from this trip, such as how to react to others’ compliments, how to take more responsibility, etc. Do incorporate this into your daily life.

And as the euphoria dies down, and the everyday school life resettles in, don’t forget what happened last week. We have left another legacy in the band’s history. Of course, there’s still more to expect in the coming weeks, though it won’t be that exciting as Hawaii. Do expect the 3rd NBC, outdoors, and other stuff. Jiayous! Let’s keep this fire going!

Congrats to Hciband!

Dining Etiquette

By Joseph. Posted in Misc. | No Comments »

Hello,

To all those poor lost souls, here’s a link to help you learn proper dining etiquette.

Good luck learning!

Joseph

Hihi bandits, here is a little FAQ for anything UM-y for our little Hawaii trip.

Q: What the heck do I wear for the D&D thingy?
A: A plain coloured collared long sleeved shirt with a pair of long pants. Look smart yea? Its a good oppotunity to make any friends of the opposite sex.

Q: Then what do i wear for the outdoor (technically indoor cuz in the mall) performance?
A: Band tee and a pair of blue jeans (BOLD UNDERLINE ITALICS THE WORD BLUE).

Q: What do I wear for Friday when i report to school?
A: Home clothes or anything that floats your boat.

Q: I mixed up my blazer with someone else’s. What do I do?
A: Come look for me to ask. I have a list of the blazers and who it is assigned to.

Q: I forgot to bring my blazer on Friday, what do I do?
A: Actually I dont know what you should do. But i do know that I’m gonna skin you alive, throw you into a pool of acid and then feed you to a hamster. To remember to bring the blazer or to forget? Your choice. :D

If you have anymore questions, ask me on MSN. Ask someone else for my email, i dowanna put my email here and kenna spammed by some other person.

Thank you.

Yours lovingly,
BrandUMâ„¢
