The schedule will be free and easy throughout. However, there is a compulsory BBQ and night cycling on the first night! (6th Dec) Look forward to it! :D

Below is the practice schedule for this week.

November 29 (Tuesday) and 30 (Wednseday)
0900 – 1130 :: High School Combines
1130 – 1330  :: High School Sectionals/High school percussion lunch
1330 – 1430  :: Percussion Ensemble / Non-Perc Lunch/ Sec 1 dismiss
1430 – 1630    :: High School and JC combine (Lion King)
>4.30   :: Dismiss

December 2 (Friday)
0900 – 1600: Full Run through of concert

As shown above, practices next week will be extended till 4.30pm for Sec 2s and 3s and 1.30pm for sec1s on Tuesday and Wednesday. Practice on Friday will be extended till 4pm for both junior and senior band.

This is due to the necessary concert preparation. Thus please make the necessary arrangements and shift all commitments after band. If you are still unable to attend please inform your respective Sls.

There will be a uniform check next wednesday (30/11) after band practice.

Our concert attire includes:
1) Black long sleeve shirt
2) Black long pants
3) Black leather shoes
4) Black socks
5) Belt (Optional)
6) Solid coloured tie

Note:
1. Shirt must be long-sleeved, collared and fully black.
2. Pants must be long-sleeved and fully black (strictly NO jeans).
3. Tie must be solid-coloured (preferably not black or dark coloured). NO school ties allowed.
4. Shoes must be leather and fully black.
5. Socks must be covering the ankle (i.e. no ankle socks) and fully black.
6. Belt must be fully black and no prominent belt buckle. It is optional.

If you do not  have any of the items below, please purchase them soon. Please ask your sls if still unsure of the requirements of any part of the attire.

Below is the packing list for band camp. It is just used as reference you can bring anything else if you wan.

Also, we would need the sec1s to prepare a 40 bar excerpt lasting about 2mins for the band camp. However, please do not choose anything from the concert pieces or essential elements. If needed please ask your sls for help :D

Lastly, Come to band camp with an open mind. Only then will you enjoy it :D

Hey everyone,

There will be no more official band practices during the September holiday. Band practices will only resume after the EOY examinations. However, do still take time off during this period to practice your instrument. 30minutes a day should be the minimum! I am sure you do not wish to lose your hard earned tone. And please do spend some time listening to band songs! :D

Here are some important announcements. Please read them carefully. :)

1) Instrument Cleaning
We are overdue for an instrument cleaning, and this is scheduled for one of the days during the September holidays (if there are band practices). More instructions will be given as soon as the date is confirmed. [SLs: Make sure you teach the Sec 1s how to clean their instruments.]

2) Instrument Spot-checks
From now on, I (with the help of the SLs) will be carrying out random instrument spot-checks. If your instrument (or your case)  is found to be in undesirable conditions, you will be subjected to corrective punishment. Hence, please make sure you clean your instrument every day and keep your cases neat and tidy.

3) Loan Forms
Loan forms for your instruments will be printed and passed to you soon. Please fill in the details, get your parents to sign the forms, and return them to me. This is for administrative purposes, so that I can keep track of who is using which instrument. It also ensures you take responsibility for your instruments, as you will be held responsible for any damages to the instruments.

4) Instrument Repairs
There has been a lot of damaged instruments lately, and I hope this will stop. From now on, unless you have valid reasons for your instrument being damaged, you will be expected to pay at least 10% of all repair costs, depending on the extent of damage done to your instrument, as well as other punishments. To save yourself the money (and trouble), please take really, really good care of your instruments.

5) Accessories Purchases
There is a new tab on the navigational bar, named ‘QM Matters’. On the page, you will find a form for you to fill in if you need me to help you purchase any accessories. I will be making regular trips to Accent once every two weeks, and I will help you purchase your accessories (reeds, grease, etc.). If you need any items urgently, you can also reflect it on the form.
